Power Factor Analysis & Capacitor Bank Systems

JRS can build and install automatic power factor correction (APFC) equipment for the 480-600 volt systems of the indoor type to 750 kVAR. Models APFC-100, APFC 101, and APFC 102. JRS also has the capabilities to manufacture power factor correction systems for the 5 kV and 13.8 kV systems up to 4000 kVAR (4 MVAR) for mining and distribution facilities. All systems use CSA-certified components and are certified completed units to CSA standards. Power factor correction systems lower the current drawn by the system by adding internal reactive power loading, thereby increasing power factor towards unity. This prevents situations like over-heated conductors and damaged motors and VFD drives due to distorted supply currents. APFC systems can reduce your electricity bill and save you from costly equipment repairs.
